Saturday we took a family trip to Coney Island to go to the New York Aquarium. I didn't want to go, Peter really wanted to, he has fun memories going there as a kid, but I find Coney Island a little seedy. I wanted to take a road trip here. It took us forever to get there, navigating Brooklyn in the car can be difficult and there were a few times when we wanted to give up and go home.
I'm so glad we didn't turn around. Once we got there the little bean went bonkers. She loved everything! The gross stray cats wandering the amusement park, the hip hop music playing on the boardwalk and watching people spin on the crazy colorful rides. Zelda had the biggest grin the entire afternoon. The highlight for her was all the fish. It didn't matter how big or small they were just that they swam right up to the glass and right next to her nose. She wanted to get inside every tank and try to touch every fish. I'm not sure I have ever seen her so excited, we'll have to go again. Maybe next time we'll try some of the rides.
