Lately, when I have been putting the little bean down for her naps and at night she has looked at me and then lifted her little legs up to climb over the rails of her crib. I say, 'no,' pretty firmly and then she stops and just cries. What is scary is that she could climb right out if she really wanted to. She is so close. This isn't uncommon and most toddlers transition from a crib to a real bed, the crib we have converts into a toddler bed, with slats on the sides and no rails. But, I am terrified of this too. Zelda is definitely not ready for a bed, she would never stay in it by herself. I am positive she would get up in the middle of the night and run around her room bumping into things. For now I keep her in her crib and have the monitor nearby so I can listen for bumps or falls, while I hope she doesn't escape. What would you do??
