We just got back from a little vacation to Ithaca to visit my parents. As soon as we arrive I reverted back to my lazy teenage self and spent the afternoons reading novels, drinking tea and having my mother cook for Zelda and me. I even slept late every morning I was there! I was so lazy that I didn't even take any pictures, not even with my iphone. The pictures above are from our outing in Madison, CT over New Year's Eve!
Peter and I drove back to NYC Sunday night and now I have to be full-time mommy again. It was great to get a little break and it reminded me of how nice it can be to step outside the family schedule. Zelda gets so excited about new things, like walking down a strange street. Look how happy she was to be in a big bookstore. We don't always have to walk the dog around the same blocks or go to the same playground.
Sometimes a week of laziness can be a catalyst for new activities. Maybe I should be lazy more often.
