My little bean and I ride the subway a lot! We go underground twice maybe even three to four times a day. To make sure Zelda stays happy on the subway I always bring: baby mum, mums, extra bottles, toys, the bean's favorite snack and a baby book, like this one. Zelda likes to show her toys to the passengers sitting next to us, sometimes she offers them bites of her snacks.
We have gotten so good at riding the subway that I now conduct experiments while on the train. On a train car there always seem to be a few old ladies who look at Zelda with big grins, I stay far away from them. I prefer to sit next to the aloof, grumpy/angry guy, the nerdy guy totally engrossed in his game of angry birds or riders resembling this guy, anyone that looks as if they don't care for babies.
The bean and I sit right next to them and while Zelda is waving at her neighbor, pointing to their nose or showing them her snacks, I wait for them to smile. After a few minutes, she almost always wins them over. It is so satisfying, who doesn't smile when they see a cute baby on the subway?
