Chicken for Everyone (and Riding the Subway)

Thursday, August 25, 2011

Yesterday Zelda and I took the subway downtown to meet our friends, Sarah and Amanda for lunch at Hill Country Chicken. The line was long, but worth the wait. The food was yummy, I was very impressed by the mac n' cheese and Zelda was really excited about eating a lot of chicken.

Our trips on the subway are usually pretty easy. We take the 1,2,3 train straight to 14th street and poke around our old neighborhood, (I especially like to go here), but riding the subway with a baby can be a big pain. One nice thing is that people ALWAYS give up their seats for me when I have Zelda in her baby bjorn. What I don't love about the subway is...

1. Zelda really likes to put her hand on the dirty metal bar
2. She loves to poke her fingers into the face of whoever is sitting next to us
3. The little bean has been known to projectile vomit on whoever is nearby
4. Zelda gets a kick (literally!) out of kicking the people on her right and left
5. Strangers sometimes like to touch her hair and feet, it drives me crazy
and
6. People like to tell me how I am a terrible parent. I have either dressed her inappropriately or have her head tilted the wrong way, am feeding her too much, not feeding her enough or I should not have brought her on the subway.

Thank you fellow subway riders for all the unwanted advice, but I am not taking any of it.

  1. Molly you are too funny! I love this post though I fear I would be one of the strangers petting the Bean (she is just too cute not too!)....Good thing I know you so it wouldn't be creepy:)
