Rainy Afternoon

Last week on a rainy Thursday Zelda and I popped into the Leroy Street Children's Library. I thought she would cuddle in my lap and we would read Madeline together, but Zelda was more interested in baby watching and playing with toy guitars. Sometimes I forget that she is too little for big kid activities like reading a long book or playing the piano.

It was so much fun watching her flail her little arms at all the different toys and the screaming toddlers. After exhausting all the big toys in the playroom (and peeing all over me during an unsuccessful diaper change) we made our way further downtown to Tribeca.
We stopped in at Moomah, a cafe for parents and their children. Moomah serves delicious organic food and has an art studio in the back. I had a latte...

while Zelda ate some rice cereal.
We had a great day. Moomah is a really fun place. The best part about the cafe is the bathroom (the diaper change there went much better), a super clean, really big space with a velvet covered changing table. It is the perfect place to diaper a baby.

Zelda was a little obsessed with the wallpaper.

We had a great time. It was one of those perfect mommy days in which I found myself so happy to be with my little eight month old bean, but also so excited for her to become a little girl. The two of us will definitely be going back to Moomah, next time maybe we make a dreamcatcher.
