Before the storm

Peter and the little bean had a good time during his paternity leave. They went to the playground, took walks and ran lots of errand together (sometimes I sent them off to the nearby bakery for muffins or to Grimaldi's Pizzeria). Hurricane Sandy went easy on Brooklyn Heights, we never lost power or water, we were very lucky. At night when we are walking Hugo on the promenade and look across the water at downtown Manhattan I can't believe how dark everything is. I can't imagine living without power for days.
The aftermath of the storm has kept Peter from traveling to midtown so he has been working from home. In between conference calls I ask him to hold or burp the baby while Zelda and I play with play dough. She has been acting up a little recently in response to this new baby, she's been bossy and yells and screams about the smallest things (she got very upset yesterday when we changed the sheets in her crib). I'm looking forward to this weekend when the four of us can play together all day.
Wow... can't believe there are four of us now.
