This picture was taken when we were visiting friends on Long Island. The cutie next to the little bean is her sweet friend, Ford. He is an adorable 8 month old that never stops smiling and Zelda loved him! She got so excited when he would wake up from his nap and she ran circles around him when he had tummy time on the floor. When she was fussy, we would ask her if she wanted to say, 'hi' to Ford and hearing his name put her in a better mood. It made me so happy to see her so excited about someone littler than her. It gives me great hope for when our second baby comes in October. It will be such a big change for her when she is no longer the center of attention and I can't hold her in my arms whenever she asks to be picked up (which right now, is most of the time).
As my due date gets closer I am trying to remember what those first few weeks of motherhood are like. I am reading blog posts like this one about how your second baby can be so different than your first and about how to make life with a newborn easier. New babies can be so much work!
