Ever since I started playing these You Tube videos videos for Zelda she has been a big fan of Elmo, the sweet, slightly annoying Sesame Street puppet. There is something about him that she is drawn to, maybe I am drawn to him too - I want to see this documentary about the puppet and the puppeteer. Sometimes, when we would go to Times Square we would see people dressed like Elmo hanging out by the subway stops looking for tourists to pose with them in hopes of making some money. What I have been warned about is an Elmo impersonator , one that apparently hangs out in public places yelling obscenities and ethnic slurs. This makes me crazy and I have developed an irrational fear of running into the big red puppet on the street. I know he is not likely to be in Brooklyn Heights, but next time we go to Central Park or Times Square I will definitely steer clear of anything big and furry.
